11/22/2007:
Teddy bear picnic!
Hello all, and happy Thanksgiving! Congratulations
Bandits, on taking down Nalorakk last week in Zul'Aman.
As our first guild raid in months, I'm quite happy with our
progress! For those of you who didn't get a spot in
this particular raid, don't worry.... there will be plenty
of raids in the future, and I've made notes on who was asked
to sit out. Karazhan raids should also become more
available during and after the holidays, and be sure to
visit this post for a short disclaimer on holiday raids.
Above is a dramatic screenshot of the raid taking down the
big bear. What? Of course it's a real
screenshot!

Also, remember
that the Burrito Museum is still taking submissions!
Post your goodies on the forums today!

Zul'Aman!
It's
an exciting time for the Burrito Bandits as we prepare to
embark on a grand new adventure into Zul'Aman, our latest
raiding endeavor. I've provided a
lengthy forum post that should answer all questions
regarding our return to raiding, and the first reply to the
post is a strategy tab on Nalorakk (bear aspect), the first
boss in the instance.
Please continue
to check back frequently for more info about raiding, as
schedules and requirements are subject to change much in the
first few weeks.
Also, the
bank page has been completely
re-vamped to reflect the new addition of guild banks to
the game with patch 2.3. Hooray!
Remember
that the History Museum needs more donations before it can
open! Please read the previous news post (11/07/2007)
or visit the forums to find out how you can help.

11/07/2007: Opening the vault - Burrito
Museum
accepting donations
In preparation for the Burrito Museum, our
newest
feature, all Bandits are invited to
dig deep into their base of screenshots,
audio files, and text/forum posts and submit
the best of their oldies to the cause.
Previous members of Forsaken Children and
folks who came from other guilds originally are encouraged to send
in their old material as well.
Memorabilia for the Eonar realm in general
(not necessarily guild-related) is also
welcome, within reason.
Think you've got something worth
remembering? Here's a list of what I'm
looking for:
--Pictures, videos, or audio documenting
Burrito Bandits' first kills of bosses.
--Pictures, videos, or audio documenting
Forsaken Children first kills of bosses.
--Pictures, videos, or audio documenting
BB/Dominion first kills of bosses.
--Lowbie PvP or leveling screenshots.
--Lowbie battleground stat/score
screenshots.
--"Honor Grind" pictures, videos, or audio.
--World PvP stuff.
--Funny screenshots of chat windows or
combat logs.
--Links to legendary forum posts.
--Screens of you and your friends goofing
off at low levels.
You can post your findings on the web and
then link them into
this stickied forum post, else you can
e-mail them to me (Poj) at
this address. I can convert all
goofy screenshot files into JPGs, so don't
worry about trying to do that yourself.
However, please have all audio files in a
normal format.
Thanks in advance!

11/07/2007: Extended update stuff
Zul'Aman is coming with patch 2.3, and now
is a great time to start talking about
whether or not we'd like to raid it. I
know that certain people (cough, me) are
entirely sick of Karazhan. ZA will be
a great starting point to delve back into
some light raiding, and I imagine the
experience will be taken about the same or
even more lightly than the approach we took
with ZG back in the day. There is a
forum post here made by Ama highlighting
all the cool new stuff that will come out of
ZA, and expect more subsequent updates
leading up to and following patch 2.3.
Here's some other stuff I did today:
--I added an old picture I found of some
reindeer into the
December 2006
archive news page.
--By request, the header on our new forum
page is now smaller, hopefully small enough.
--The new forum page and applications page
are no longer titled "New Page 1" in a
browser.
--I added a new, improved "Burning Burrito"
logo to the top of all TBC news pages.

11/05/2007: Another quick update
I am very pleased to announce the
introduction of the new, improved Burrito
Bandits forums! Hooray! I used
some framing to keep the
forum and
our new
application page nested within
burritobandits.com, which should make
navigation much easier. It should also
be a lot more visually appealing. I
also changed the forum style again to a
World of Warcraft theme that I found.
Of all the WoW styles out there, this one
was probably the simplest and most tasteful.
Enjoy!
PS: As I am typing this, the forum is
yet untested. I will try to work out
any snafus, should they emerge. Please
post in the forum to report any issues!

11/04/2007:
Bringing Back the Burrito!

Although it was not announced or covered on
the website, the Bandits recently underwent
a merge with <Ravenous> to form the new
guild <Organized Aggression>. The
merge looked promising at first, but
ultimately failed to live up to the
expectations of many Burrito Bandits.
Now, a decent sized group of Burritos have
wandered back to the guild they grew up in,
and PvP is flourishing once more. I
was so excited to hear about the
re-emergence of PvP and of the guild as a
whole, I worked into the wee hours of the
morning preparing certain guild things with
lots of goodies, updates, and refreshes.
Here's some stuff I did:
--All of the broken images are finally
fixed,
to the best of my knowledge.
--I'm
in the process of adding a new "Museum"
section to the site, where you can track
cool things like the progression of our
tabard, website and re-live some awesome
Burrito moments.
--The Poj Faction page
is working again!
--The Policies
were adjusted and simplified slightly in
their language.
--The Forums underwent a lot.
I
re-organized the main forums and made
Announcements and General invisible unless
logged in, as well as deleting a bunch of
archaic posts and PvE forums. I also
added a Public forum.
--The guild ranks are simplified,
with "Beans" again being the lowest.
The "Smelly and "Guild Resource" ranks no
longer exist, but I kept "LOL PALADIN"
around.
--Some members were adjusted
to ranks that properly reflected their
activity level, and a few people who hadn't
been on in months that I had flat-out never
heard of were removed.
--The site's front page
now has Wowhead and WoWWiki links, and the
"Apply" button is a lot more obvious.
I made a post on the Eonar boards today
heralding the guild's official reemergence,
and that post can be
found here.
I look forward to playing with you all more
soon, and I'd like to discourage any
potential drama-mongering behavior over the
next few weeks.
Thanks, and expect more updates soon.
